June 26, 2015 was a big day for me, y'all. Love conquers hate. That is harder to believe some days than others. But yesterday -- yesterday we won, y'all.

The reading at the Fort Worth Writer's Boot Camp was awesome. Gayle Reaves-King and Paul Koniecki were absolutely brilliant. The crowd was celebratory and warm. The open mic was lovely. I gave everyone a postcard broadside to thank them for coming and encourage them to go ahead and buy that book. This poem is for my wife, because she's the reason I believe #LoveWins every single day, even the hard days:

Also, the title poem from Still was featured on IndieFeed yesterday. Mongo, the host, said such lovely things about my work. You know, I was a fan of IndieFeed for a long time before they featured me. That first acceptance came with a "welcome to the family" from Mongo, and I gotta say, I am proud and grateful to be a part of the IndieFeed family.
